The Oceania Talent Identification Program continues to go from strength-to-strength, with 7670 students from 97 schools across 12 countries taking part throughout the Oceania region over the past month.

The program, which is generously supported by all the Oceania Federations and financially by the International Weightlifting Federation, began five years ago.

Its goal was to reach 5000 students by the end of the fifth year, a figure that was easily surpassed in New Caledonia.

There were 4433 boys and 3237 girls taking part in the program. A training camp for students selected by their national federations will be held in New Caledonia next month.
